Roxane van Iperen in The New York Times
Yesterday, The New York Times published an extensive interview with bestselling author Roxane van Iperen, following the American edition of The High Nest ('t Hooge Nest), which will be published in the United States by Harper Collins as The Sisters of Auschwitz. The book will be published in the United States on August 31, with a first print run of 95,000.The High Nest was translated into English by Joni Zwart.
The New York Times journalist Nina Siegal had an in-depth conversation with Roxane van Iperen about the war, Jewish resistance and about the way Janny and Lien Brilleslijper staged their own form of resistance. The full interview can be read here.
The High Nest is a compelling story about the persecution of the Jews in the Netherlands, based on the lives of Janny and Lien Brilleslijper, two courageous Jewish sisters in the resistance, letting many Jews go into hiding in the house The High Nest.
Translation rights of the book were previously sold to Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Sweden and Slovakia. The film rights are sold to Man Up, a company owned by actresses Halina Reijn and Carice van Houten.
